Naomi should know who Seryth is. . .maybe you don't remember, but that's cool:
“One way or another, I will find you. I will discover your dwelling. I will destroy you! Damn you for what you have done! Coward!”
At this time, Seryth was only 19. He was intense with flaming anger that only he could put out. His broad sword was drawn as he stood there, facing the back of his opponent, the fire that had devoured the village. Seryth screamed out as the flame burst and became more intense.
Before then, the days had gone by like they always had- doing the chores, hanging around with friends and then training with them. It was the good life for Seryth. But little did he know the danger that would befall him during his merriment with his family and friends.
The days began to darken in everyone’s heart. Tension grew. Faint rumblings of footsteps could be heard as shadows of dark, malformed beasts danced across the land. Seryth could feel this tension as well- probably the most. His strength began to grow. He was preparing for a battle- but not even he knew he was.
And that day came.
As night came, so did hackling of creatures unknown to Seryth or any of the people he lived with. The shadows grew larger and more plentiful as the rumbling of the footsteps became louder.
Seryth looked over from his window and noticed rustling in the bushes as spikes emerged from the top of it. His eyes widened as he moved away from the window quickly yet slowly. He ran to his room and picked up his sword. After this, he jumped out his window to discover the source to these unknown creatures.
Walking along a self-made path, Seryth discovered red, beady eyes staring straight into his. Seryth knew he had been spotted, though waited for the movement of the eyes to decipher what to do next as far as execution of an attack or defense goes. The creature turned and jumped for Seryth, though Seryth caught it and led his sword to devour the creature’s stomach. It screamed out in pain. Seryth would have to leave now before he was spotted. If only there was a way to cover up that blood. . .
As Seryth ran as fast as he could, evading the eye contact of whatever these creatures were, he made his way to the head captain of the city defense wing. He ran into the building, totally ignoring the guards’ orders and warned the captain.
“Captain Sorkavree! Creatures are on the attack! I know not of what they are, but one attacked me. They are on the offensive on this town!”
“You better be serious, Seryth Narovoy.” The captain got up from his chair and called out to the guards in the outer corridor. “Gather our men; creatures on the offensive are ready to attack!”
“I kid you not, my lord.”
“Good.”
Minutes later the creatures had gathered to the top of one hill located to the north of the town. The men of the city guard soon discovered what these creatures were- Black Fangs. These were creatures you would dare not attack unless they attack you. Large, sharp fangs dripping black poison stuck out of their mouths with smaller, sharp canines in back. They were about the size of a normal man, only about a foot taller. They were very skinny aside from their upper body. It was very muscular. Their heads resembled that of a wolf’s though the snout longer. Their eyes- as previously discovered- were beady and red colored. Their paws were large, bearing large, black fangs, and the same bearings for their feet. They stood on their hind feet and could run at amazing speeds.
Seryth stood next to Sorkavree, his sword drawn, ready for attack. “Do we wait for them or do they wait for us?” Seryth whispered.
“We wait for them. . .” Captain Sorkavree bore a long sword and shield.
Thunder began to rumble in the distance as rain began to brew inside the dark gray clouds. The clouds could no longer withstand the weight of the rain as the rain began to fall quickly and without warning. With that, the Black Fangs roared ear-piercing battle cries and ran towards the city guard with great speed- only one stayed behind. It was much larger than the others and seemed more powerful as its eyes were yellow- not red.
“That one up there is mine.” Seryth said, pointing to the leader. Captain Sorkavree would have replied in disapproval if it weren’t for Seryth running off, leaving no time for it. Sorkavree was then caught off as a Black Fang attempted an attack to him. It was blocked, though would still leave much time and effort to be defeated.
“You!” Seryth called out to the Black Fang. The reply was a distinct growl back saying- “Bring it.”. Seryth held his blade forward and went forward to attack with a thrust to the creature’s chest. It was blocked and Seryth’s sword was knocked out from his hands. Without much surprise or reaction, Seryth drew his crescent blades.
Soon lightning struck, sparking a flame much stronger than the rain, surrounding both opponents. It soon grew to engulf the town in flame. A scream of dire pain was then heard as he discovered many of the Black Fangs attacking the townspeople. It was either stay and prevent further action from the enemy, or leave to save the people, yet make matters worse. Seryth knew he should stay, and that he did. Though when he looked back to the townspeople, he saw his mom and dad- slain and on the ground. Seryth looked away just as quickly. He knew what happened and an anger inside him sparked, and then grew into a flash fire in his heart. He tried to hold back his tears, though it burned his eyes to, and so he let them out as strength was gained.
And from there, the battle wore on, both warriors- one of evil, and one of light battled. This battle raged on for hours, almost a day- neither wearing down.
Later on, both warriors were then sent flying and rolling on the ground- both tired and weak. Seryth was drenched and parts of his clothing ripped. Both were bleeding and bore wounds of their own. But before Seryth could get up to attack the Black Fang leader- to finish him off, it got up and ran away. And here you are-

Seryth screamed out as the flame burst and became more intense. This was not a battle he could win. The only thing left for the city guard and the rest of the town to do was to retreat. And that they did.
DAYS LATER AT HIS MOM AND DAD’S FUNERAL:
Seryth’s hair was tied back in a ponytail as he watched his mom and dad’s graves being lowered into their burial holes and then the dirt slowly covering them. He knelt down and prayed, tears flowing smoothly down his cheeks.
I fought valiantly and bravely, though only to cause the two of you to die. I lost you and all that is left of me are bitter memories of that day. If only I could have been in both places- if only I had come to you two instead of staying to fight what was the cause of all this. I swear in the name of our Lord that I will discover the motives of those who killed you- and then destroy them.
Seryth then walked away from the funeral and onto the long and deadly road that was set before him.
