For my second semester at college, I signed up for an English Composition II class that focuses on comic books. For our first comic we read a graphic novel called Fable. It is by far my favorite comic out of all the ones I have read. It is about mythical creatures and characters from fairy tales living in exile in a modern American setting. The reason for exile is because of an evil force that took over their mythical kingdoms. The first novel starts of with the murder of Rose Red, Snow White's sister and all the way until the end, Gybsy, a were-wolf detective tries to figure out who did the crime. It is really good and I plan on buying more volumes.

Mm hmm. Fable sounds nice. Sounds like a mix of The 10th Kingdom and Jasper Fforde's novels. I just did a check on Fable....it was created and written by Bill Willingham. So, it's an American comic. But...a few other artists have worked on it, not just him. It also has an underlying political thing...based on the creator's own political views. A prequel called 1001 Nights of Snowfall was released on October 18 2006. The evil force that you speak of, Nader, is unknown, mysterious, and called The Adversary. Mm Hmm I'm not sure if Kinokuniya sells Fable, or even if the library has it. But, I'd sure like to read it It's great you get to do Comic books for your Composition class.

10th Kingdom? Jasper Fforde?
1001 Nights of Snowfall? If it is a prequel, it should be pretty interesting. I wonder if the orginal series gets to a point where they return to their original world. That would be interesting as well.
Yeah, it was loads of fun. The teacher was amazing. He was so good, I decided to take his other clases. I am currently registered in Intro to film, and mythology and fairytales.
