I've caught anime fever these days and so have been watching as many as I can. Just finished Hellsing and am now watching something else. Hahaha... Hellsing was quite disappointing actually. The artwork is not very nice, story not very good. The music, however, is excellent--the songs are still playing in my head... Opening theme song is "Cool" (don't know the band's name, however). The end theme song is "Shine" by east west japan. The whistling toward the end is great--I love the sad tune. Apart from the music, there's nothing much. Sir Integra Wingate Hellsing is drawn ok, but sometimes, she appears plump... so the artwork is not very consistent. And apart from Integra and Victoria, the other characters lack the usual Japanese style. Overall, the art is more American than Japanese, particularly Alucard and the way the shadows are drawn for his clothing. Looks like he came from an American comic book  But overall, Hellsing made sense. So, it wasn't so bad although it wasn't so good. It was actually featured in MAGE but the review didn't mention much... What I found comedic was Victoria lugging around that ultra-huge gun back and forth...Hahahaha. Too bad her character wasn't as interesting as it should have been. |

I liked Hellsing, it was a spoof of British humor I felt. However, once I got my hands on the manga, there was no going back. The manga is far superalitve compared to the anime and Alucard is WAY cooler in it. Seras was and is still my favorite character from the series but if I met Alucard in a dark alley, he wouldn't get much of a fight from me.

Hahaha...Alucard wouldn't get much of a fight from anyone or anything that isn't as invincible as he is.
So the manga is much better than the anime? Mm, I'll look out for it.

I have the complete series on dvd, and i liked it. The manga is suppose to be better because it continues on with the story, do the anime might continue. I heard there was some problem because the original maker, didnt like the way the anime ruined Incognito's character so thats why i think it ended early.

Last guy Alucard faces....*thinks*....I vaguely remember this weird creature/machine thing at the end that tried to kill Alucard and was trying to absorb more power....Ooh...is that Incognito? Ah, I see.

me and Shelb watched a really sick episode of that.

oh yeh.. i remember that episode.. it was cool.. but my all time favourite was the episode when the Valentine brothers invade the Hellsing Mansion and all hell breaks loose.

I liked when Alucard faces off with Alexander.
I also like how the "angel of death" kills all those vampire zombies with those threads.

Anderson's laugh in the japanese version is hilarious..

Yeah he is awesone he even creates Victoria's huge ass gun. lol
She dosn't use it because it's too heavy, and when she does she like whipes out all the vampire zombies. That was also a good part.
